Employing new drivers is a difficult task for businesses. It is difficult to predict how newly employed drivers will drive your fleet vehicles. Some drivers might not have driven in a long time or did not obtain their driving licence in a legitimate way. Some drivers also developed bad driving habits over time and receive complaints or cause frequent accidents. We supply an unbiased driving assessment.
Why have drivers assessed?
Driver assessments are vital to ensure that your drivers do no miss use or damage your vehicles.
Delegates who have not driven a vehicle for an extended period of time might be out of shape.
Some drivers develop bad driving habits over time.
Veteran drivers might have deteriorated vision or the ability to operate a vehicle.
It is very difficult for the Human Resources department of a business to determine a new employee’s driving skills.
Some drivers are promoted or given a new company vehicle which is difficult for them to operate.
The business might have a had complaints or reports of bad driving from a specific driver.
How the assessments are done
All assessments are based on the K53 driving system.
All manoeuvres such as reversing, ally-docking and parallel parking are tested.
The driver is assessed on the road to assess his interpretation of robot con trolled crossings, traffic circles, stop crossings, driving in traffic and response to other road users.
Manipulation of the vehicles controls such as the use of brakes, clutch, indicators and gears.
Safe driving is assessed by changing lanes, overtaking and entering traffic.
All assessments are done on correctional bases. The instructor will inform the driver of the mistakes they have made during the assessment.
After the Assessment
Once the practical driving assessment has been done by our instructor, a report will be compiled. This report will identify all the shortcomings based on the K53 driving system. The instructor will then add a recommendation in the comments section on how to improve the driver’s shortcomings should there be any.
